Happy Birthday to us!

One year ago today, at 4:03pm EST, New York State issued the Limited Liability Company license to Left Lane Pepper Company! We became a legit company at that moment in time!

Although we had been working on hot sauce recipes and branding ideas for well over a year, we now knew it was getting real. There were so many things to do! Some delicious, secret recipes and ideas on a napkin simply weren't enough to launch a company.

We spent the next few months researching, learning, and doing. We learned about food safety requirements, third party logistics providers (3PLs), process authorities, e-commerce platforms, packaging, parcel shipping costs, ingredient purchasing, business liability insurance, trademarking, and so much more. We built a website, social media pages, e-commerce store, and most important, a consistent brand image.

In November we opened the e-commerce store and launched sales to a small circle of friends, relatives, and colleagues. By the end of 2021 we were humming along with all processes working pretty smoothly. Were there hiccups? Definitely! The biggest issue was an ownership change at our fulfillment provider (let's leave it at that...). And we learned that John was not destined to be an accountant during this lifetime.

Earlier this month we took our first "baby steps" with an in-person event at AutoVault NJ with New Jersey's Finest Motor Club. We learned and attended another event in Brooklyn. Now we're filling the spring and summer calendar with car events that line up with our automotive theme.

We're just at the beginning of the Left Lane Pepper Company journey. We hope you'll stick with us as we shift up a gear and run up the RPMs towards a bright future!
