I don't have a car.

I live in NYC, so I don't really need a car. Here in the city, I can walk, take the subway, bus (occasionally) or take some sort of ride share. I don't miss having a car or driving. It's been nearly a decade since I sat behind the wheel and drove a car.

Before moving to NYC I lived in Alexandria, Virginia and drove a BMW and prior to that a Volkswagen Golf. John does give me credit that the red Golf had a manual transmission.

In retrospect, I don't miss having a car. Walking has become a great way for me to see the city and to avoid the headaches of car ownership in a metropolis. I don't worry about expensive parking, fuel, maintenance, or the high cost of insurance. On the other hand, John has to take care of that... :)
